Young Families Simchat Torah Davening & Hakafot

Monday, October 17, 2022 22 Tishrei 5783

4:45 PM - 6:00 PM

Congregation Beth Aaron will be offering a Young Families' Simchat Torah Davening and Hakafot, scheduled to begin in the late afternoon of the day of Shemini Atzeret.  A special Mincha will begin at 4:45 p.m., and will be followed   a Parent Child Learning followed by Ma'ariv and Hakafot.

Please note that candle lighting and kiddush may not take place before 7:05 p.m., and preparations for the second day of Yom Tov may not begin before this time. Although ordinarily one should prepare during the day for the evening seudah when one makes an “early Yom Tov Sheini,” that only applies when the seudah will be well underway before sunset, and that will not be the case for those participating in the early hakafot.

Understandably, younger children may not be able to comfortably wait until the later time to eat.  In this situation, one may prepare food for children at any time during the day, and there is no need for the children to wait until 7:05 p.m. to begin eating.

If you have any specific questions, please feel free to contact Rabbi Rothwachs at rabbi@bethaaron.org or 201-747-8740.
