A Custom Fit: Chavrusa Initiative and Mishmar Program
Congregation Beth Aaron is involved in two related initiatives to increase Torah learning in our community.
The first is a chavrusa matching program. We would like to help members of our community to find appropriate chavrusas (study partners) to learn Torah together. The Questionnaire linked below requests information to help us to match learning partners. We hope that this initiative will result, not only in people on the same level learning together, but also in members of our community with greater skills and knowledge sharing their Torah knowledge with others.
A natural outgrowth of the chavrusa matching program should be increased Torah learning within the four walls of our beis medrash. The shul is taking a number of steps to make the learning environment within the shul more user-friendly during weekday evenings, with particular emphasis on the traditional Thursday evening “Mishmar.” This will include making rabbis and rabbinical students available to help people with their learning, as well as physical amenities like drinks and (at least on Thursday nights) food. The Questionnaire linked below will also help us to plan the Mishmar program.
